(JTA) — President Obama received a letter from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the White House confirmed.
Obama received the letter last month, National Security Council spokesman Michael Hammer told Politico on Saturday, but Hammer would not disclose details of its content.
Ahmadinejad said in an interview with Iranian state television last week that he had written a letter to Obama.
"I sent him a message and told him that we welcome change, but we didn’t see any genuine change,” Ahmadinejad said, according to Politico.
Hammer said that Obama will not reply to the letter, Ynet reported.
