Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations has resigned to become head of an Israeli college.

JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations has resigned to become head of an Israeli college.

Gabriela Shalev, who has represented Israel in the United Nations since 2008, informed Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman that she would leave her position to become the head of the academic board of Ono College in the fall.

Shalev is a law professor and former academic president of Ono College.

No replacement has been announced.
