Daniel and Jane Och have given the Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union in New Jersey a $15 million matching gift to help provide tuition easement for middle class families and for capital improvements, according to The New Jersey Jewish News.

The gift, which is the largest the school has ever received, was made in honor of Daniel Och’s mother. Och is the CEO of Och-Ziff Capital and the chairman of the Birthright Israel Foundation.

The gift will be used in part to create an endowment that will provide $1.25 million annually to provide tuition relief to up to 230 middle-income families.

The school will be renamed the Golda Och Academy in December, but it will remain a member of the Conservative movement’s Solomon Schechter school system.

Two years ago, Och made a $2 million gift to the school.
