JERUSALEM (JTA) — The warehouse of a Palestinian girls’ school in the West Bank was set on fire and spray-painted with graffiti, allegedly by Jewish settlers.
Palestinians from a village near Nablus reported the early Wednesday morning vandalism to the Israeli army, which opened an investigation, according to reports.
The words "Greetings from the hills," was spray-painted on the walls of the building, which was filled with the school’s sports equipment and furniture, The Jerusalem Post reported.
Unnamed security officials cited in Israeli media say they suspect the vandalism was perpetrated by area settlers in retaliation for the demolition Tuesday night of unauthorized structures in the nearby Bat Ayin settlement and Mitzpe Erez.
