(JTA) — A British artist has prepared a ketubah, or Jewish marriage contract, for Britain’s Prince William and his fiancee, Kate Middleton.

Michael Horton, who has Israeli citizenship, designed the ketubah for the couple’s April 29 wedding, according to The Associated Press. The language, in Hebrew and English, has been altered to be egalitarian and nonreligious. Neither the prince nor Middleton are Jewish.

The ketubah reads, in part, "May we remain committed to each other’s physical and mental well-being, and to each other’s emotional and spiritual growth."

Horton delivered the gift to the British ambassador to Israel in a ceremony Thursday in Ramat Gan.
