Chelsea Handler fans are having pretty good few days. Earlier this week, NBC announced it will premiere “Are you there, Chelsea?” on January 11th, a show Handler writes, produces and stars in (as her own sister). The TV version of Chelsea will be played by Laura Prepon (“That 70s Show”).
Now E! has announced that the late-night “Chelsea Lately” will stay on the air until at least 2014.
In addition to hosting and producing “Chelsea Lately,” Handler will develop and produce shows for E! via her Borderline Amazing Productions company.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, while “Chelsea Lately” is not as popular among viewers as other broadcast network shows, it is the highest-rated and most watched late-night show among women 18-34, E!’s core demo.
“It’s a great time for women in comedy,” Handler said. “And it’s a great time to have real breasts.”
