(JTA) — The head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, Sheik Raed Salah, should not have been ordered deported from England last year, a London court ruled.

Salah, an Israeli citizen, reportedly entered the country last June for a speaking tour despite being banned from travel to Britain due to his anti-Semitic views. He was freed on bail three weeks later and left the country.

An immigration court in October ruled that Salah should be deported. But a British High Court, the Upper Tier Tribunal, annulled the deportation order, the British interior ministry announced Sunday.
