A survey conducted by Jewish dating website JDate and Christian dating website Christian Mingle asking “Who is your favorite political news funnyman?,” the “Daily Show” host earned the favor of 51% of young Jewish singles, whereas Christians prefer Stewart’s Catholic counterpart, Stephen Colbert (39%).
According to LA Times, For Jewish voters, Bill Maher of HBO’s “Real Time” came in second with 23%, followed by Colbert (18%0, and Seth Meyer coming in 4th with 8%, which strengthens our theory that he is most underappreciated news writer in the industry.
As for Christian singles (who are ready to mingle), Stewart was second with 34%, Maher with 14%, and Meyers with slightly more love at 13%. However, According the ChristianMingle, younger audience show much more love for Colbert, “Of the Christians surveyed, younger respondents are the biggest Colbert fans — 54 percent of 18- to 25-year-olds prefer him.”
While we do think Stewart is a great political host, and definitely more keen on Jewish references step it up on Passover, for example. We do feel the urge to make the case for Meyers, so enjoy his jokes from the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner:
