NEW YORK (6NoBacon) — In the days following the presidential election, Jewish celebrities tweeted their thoughts.

Some congratulated the president: "i only ask for a certain amount of miracles a year. i can check this one off!" Sandra Bernhard offered. Some discussed the real winner of the election: "Nate Silver was just anointed Emperor of Math"  Michael Ian Black wrote. Some shared their personal celebration: "I am a sleep deprived zombie. But a happy zombie. Haven’t stayed up so late since New Year’s Eve 1960," Judy Blume tweeted. Some complimented Republican candidate Mitt Romney: "Classy concession speech by Mitt Romney. Gave the speech alone, took high road, no excuses, and the country can move on," Elizabeth Banks said.

Actress Roseanne Barr, who surprisingly finished fifth in the Nov. 6 race with more than 48,000 votes, congratulated Obama and tweeted her wish for the next election: "2016 ballot access in all fifty states."

Liev Schreiber protects Brooklyn

At the Brooklyn set of the upcoming John Turturro film “Fading Gigalo,” actor Liev Schreiber (“Scream,” X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) and singer-actress Vanessa Paradis were dressed as Chasidim from Brooklyn. Schreiber wore the uniform of the Chasidic patrol squad known as Shomrim, while Paradis had on a sheitel and dress.

The world of haredi Orthodox Judaism is not foreign to Schreiber, whose mother was born into a Brooklyn household of Jewish communist immigrants. Paradis, who recently split from Johnny Depp, is Catholic.

“Fading Gigalo” tells the story of Fioravante (Turturro), who decides to get rid of his considerable money problems by becoming a gigolo with his best friend (Woody Allen) acting as his pimp. The film, which is set to hit the screens next year, also features Sofia Vergara and Sharon Stone.

Silverman, Conan corrupting babies

Last week, comedian Sarah Silverman visited Conan O’Brien and embarrassed the late-night host with a serious of R-rated lines. Silverman’s mission was to show that it’s OK to discuss lady parts — and she proceeded to demonstrate. After taking a photo of Conan’s lips with her iPhone, she placed the photo against her crotch and said, ”I think it’s good to get used to the lady parts and not make them shame-filled things.”

While Conan could not hide his embarrassment, eventually he was able to follow Silverman’s orders and yell/sing the word “vagina.” In a hilarious finish, Conan showed a video taken by the mother of her baby boy reacting to the scene — pretty much a reenaction of the "Meet the Fockers" scene in which the baby repeats potty language. Maybe there’s a reason why it’s called a late night show.

LaBeouf’s bar brawl redux

One year, three weeks and six days: That’s how long it took actor Shia LaBeouf to stay out of trouble. Time to restart the clock.

During a recent visit to London, LaBeouf accompanied his "Nymphomaniac" co-star Mia Goth to her mother’s house. The two stopped in at SE14, a local student dive, where the patrons reportedly were surprised to see a star of such magnitude as LaBeouf. While many of the fellow drinkers took pictures with/of LaBeouf, one decided to take his baseball cap, which LaBeouf had been using — apparently unsuccessfully — to cover up his identity. LaBeouf didn’t find it very funny and wound up fighting with the student.

Last year LaBeouf engaged in a bar fight in Vancouver, Canada, but since then has stayed out of trouble. Maybe he should stay away from bars in English-speaking countries.

‘Skyfall’ a snoozer for Franco

James Franco has done what few have likely done before –– fall asleep during a James Bond movie. Over the weekend, the actor-director caught the late-night showing of “Skyfall” with Ashley Benson in Los Angeles, but according to theater-goers, the two didn’t exactly watch the movie. It’s not what you’re thinking.

”They tried to stay incognito catching a late show together. But both James and Ashley fell asleep," Perez Hilton posted on his blog. "They were woken up by theatre staff at the end of the movie.”

Is that as bad as making out during “Schindler’s List"?

Bialik’s rant on safe eating

“Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik, a vegan and animal activist, reamed out California voters on Facebook for failing to pass Prop 37, a ballot initiative that sought to ensure all foods containing GMOs (genetically modified organisms) are labeled. She referred to a proposition that did pass: Measure B requires pornographic actors in Los Angeles City and County to wear condoms while filming a pornographic film.

"California voters: the condoms you approved for sex workers to have to wear (which I voted for too) … maybe I’ll wear them when I eat my unlabeled genetically modified food. Sound good?"

Kunis going back to the ’70s

Six years after Mila Kunis starred on “That ’70s Show,” she’s heading back to the “dynomite!” decade — as a producer. According to Deadline, Kinis is set to produce “Meridian Hills,” a CW Network drama project

“Meridian Hills,” according to the site, “is set in a boozy Midwestern country club circa 1972, when the Equal Rights Amendment had just passed the Congress to begin a long and difficult process of state ratification. The show centers on a young, newly married woman who joins the Junior League, discovering an eclectic group of other young women who become unlikely allies in her quest to change the system.” The amendment was never adopted.

While it seems like Kunis has much love for the ’70s, she never actually experienced the decade, having been born in 1983.
