We noted Sunday that Susan Turnbull, currently Jewish Women International chairwoman and not so long ago vice chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, had misgivings about President Obama’s rumored pick for defense secretary, Chuck Hagel.
In a Facebook post, she worried about his "knee-jerk" opinions, not just on Israel, but on gay and women’s issues.
Now that it’s formal, Turnbull says she defers to the president’s choice — but still wants answers.

As you know, he wasn’t my first choice but I don’t get one (obviously, for good reason) and the President’s choice should be the next Sec. of Defense. Like others, I am confident that the confirmation process will provide ample opportunity for Senator Hagel to address concerns about his record on a number of issues.
