(JTA) — Three men were arrested for vandalizing a yeshiva property and nearby house in New York City.
The New York Police Department Hate Crimes Task Force arrested the men on Monday for acts they are alleged to have committed in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to the jpupdates news site.
The suspects allegedly spray-painted hate statements on a building under construction in Brooklyn’s Borough Park neighborhood before breaking into a nearby yeshiva in the heavily Orthodox Jewish area, spray-painting a swastika on a bus parked outside.
In London, a vandal painted a large blue swastika on a home on Sunday night in the Shirehall Park neighborhood.
The property’s Jewish owners painted over the offending symbol placed above their front porch, according to the thisislocallondon.co.uk news site.
One of the home’s residents said surveillance cameras caught the vandal — a white male — in the act and that the police have opened an investigation, Arutz Sheva reported. The resident said the house may have been mistaken for a nearby synagogue.
