(JTA) — Some 1,000 demonstrators marched to a Hewlett-Packard conference in Boston to protest the company’s sale of equipment to the Israel Defense Forces.
Monday’s march, which also was protesting Israel’s conduct in its conflict with Hamas, was sponsored by various Boston-area organizations, including a chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine.
According to a news release, the protesters demanded an end to Israel’s blockade of Gaza, as well as an economic boycott and sanctions against Israel.
The protesters targeted HP because it sells information technology systems to the IDF.
“To resist is to boycott, so I boycott HP and call those who stand for justice to do the same,” a rally organizer, Yasmeen Hamdoun, said in a news release.
