JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli security forces arrested a Hamas terrorist cell suspected of a West Bank shooting attack that left one Israeli civilian dead.

Among the seven members of the cell taken into custody on Sunday, according to the Shin Bet, are the alleged gunman who killed Malachi Rosenfeld, 25, and a Hamas member who was freed in the 2011 Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange.

The arrests of suspects in the June 29 shooting were also carried out by the Israel Defense Forces and the Israel Police, the Shin Bet said in a statement issued Sunday. Three others were injured in the attack on a major West Bank road near the Shvut Rachel and Shiloh settlements. The victims, all in their 20s, were returning to their homes in the Kochav Hashahar settlement after playing basketball.

The terror cell is also accused of attempting to carry out an attack on June 6.

Most of the suspects are from Silwad, a Palestinian town located near Ramallah.
