(JTA) — A mother and daughter from Israel died in a car accident in Switzerland.
The two women, aged 27 and 54, were killed Tuesday afternoon near the village of Quinto, 240 miles southeast of Bern, the capital, the news website 24heures reported.
According to the report, their car was slowly advancing in traffic when it was forcefully rear-ended and then slammed into the car in front of it. The two victims were not named. The driver of the vehicle that hit them was a 55-year old French motorist, who was lightly wounded, the report said.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The local Israeli embassy made arrangements for the bodies to be flown back to Israel, according to the Swiss Jewish paper Tachles.
