On July 14th, I had the honor of being a part of the 5th annual New York City’s Disability Pride March. Thousands of families and friends of individuals with a variety of disabilities. Amazing compassionate & dedicated professionals who put in their heart and soul to helping individuals with disabilities and their families.
Marching for miles to bring awareness to the disability community. Proudly holding posters asking Congress and the governor to keep funding important programs.
It was amazing to see everyone become an activist. The power everyone has to make a change when they come together for an important cause.
I did a little research online and was so happy to read that other cities such as Chicago, Buffalo, Trenton, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta and Los Angeles have or have had similar events! If your city or town doesn’t have such an event – take a moment to come together with others and contact your local official reminding them that the disability community deserves this platform to have their voices heard & bring awareness to others!!!
