Thirteen Jewish unemployed workers, the majority of whom are Communists, may be deported from Palestine shortly, it was learned today.
The group of thirteen recently caused much discussion in Palestine when they went to the Palestine government asking that they be deported to their native countries and complaining that they could not find employment in the country. The government directed them to the Zionist Executive in Jerusalem. The thirteen caused a disturbance at the offices of the Zionist Executive. They were arrested by the police for causing the disturbance and were placed in jail where they declared a hunger strike. Their trial began today and a sentence is expected tomorrow.
The Palestine Hebrew press representing the middle and labor classes sharply condemned the action of this group, terming them traitors to the cause.
