Twenty Jewish students were beaten today when anti-Semitic disorders were renewed on the streets near Kaunas University. Several of the attackers were arrested. Order prevailed on the university grounds and Jewish students participated in the Students’ Union elections.
A special session of the University Senate last night condemned yesterday’s anti-Jewish disorders, in which several students were beaten, and decided to punish severely the persons responsible for the excesses and to take energetic measures for security. The rector published an appeal to the students to consider and not to repeat the disturbances.
