200 Jewish Refugees Stranded in Lisbon Appeal for British Visas

Two hundred Polish Jewish refugees stranded here when the United States’ entry into the war resulted in the cessation of sailings by both American and Portuguese lines operating between Lisbon and the Americas, today cabled Dr. Ignacy Schwarzbart, Polish Jewish deputy, in London, asking him to make every effort to secure British visas for them.
