Approximately 2,000,000 of Poland’s 3,325,000 Jews are already under Nazi domination or are threatened by the rapidly advancing German Army, according to a statistical study prepared today.

Polish cities with large Jewish populations already captured by the Nazi forces include: Lodz, 202,500; Krakow, 56,500; Czestochowa, 27,000, Kattowice, 5,700 and Poznan, 2,000. Cities immediately threatened include: Warsaw, 352,700; Lwow, 99,600; Bialystok, 40,000; Lublin, 39,000; Tarnapol and Stanislawow, about 100,000 together.

The territories around Warsaw, Lodz, Kielce and Bialystok, almost entirely occupied by German troops, have a Jewish population totaling about 1,300,000. The southern districts, including the areas around Cracow, Lwow, Stanislawow and Tarnopol, have a Jewish population of approximately 550,000. In the western districts, which belonged to Germany prior to 1918, including the Posnan, Pomerania and Silesia areas, the Jews number only 26,100, or less than two per cent of the total population in that district.

Undetermined numbers of Jews in the occupied territories, however, have already fled to centers not yet captured by the Nazi forces.
