“Palestine will never become an Arab country and the 600,000 Jews there are ready to sacrifice their lives so that the promise made twenty-five years ago is fulfilled,” Dr. Nahum Goldmann said last night before leaving by air for London, where he will attend the forthcoming world Zionist conference.
“This conference has been called at a moment when a definite decision on Palestine must be reached, ” Dr. Goldmann declared. “Any delay in this decision will increase the explosive character of the Palestine problem.”
Mendel Fisher, executive director of the Jewish National Fund, also left for London, today to attend the conference. He replaces Judge Morris Rothenberg, president of the JNF, who could not attend because of judicial duties.
