A Florida Jewish businessman bought Britain’s most revered soccer team. Malcolm Glazer bought a controlling stake in Manchester United on Friday for nearly $1.5 billion. Many ManU fans — believed to number over three million worldwide — expressed outrage and protested the sale to a foreigner. Additionally, Glazer fronted only about a third of the purchase price, and fans worry that he may saddle the team with debt. Glazer has a reputation for cutting costs and raising ticket prices, but he is credited with making a success of his Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team, which won the 2003 Super Bowl.
