A Palestinian terrorist granted safe haven in Ireland after the Church of the Nativity siege left the country for several weeks without the knowledge of Irish police who were supposed to be monitoring him. Jihad Jara, one of two Palestinians deported to Ireland by Israel under a U.N.-brokered accord to end the 2002 siege in Bethlehem, took an unauthorized trip to Spain in 2004, the Sunday Independent reported.
