A representative of the German Red Cross has admitted that the mercy ship owned by his organization was hit by missiles at the Lebanese city of Junieh, some 20 kilometers northeast of Beirut on July 27. But he firmly declined to say that the vessel, the Flora, was hit by Palestine Liberation Organization rockets. In a press conference here, the Red Cross representative back-tracked on his initial report last month when he said on television that the ship was hit while in the port area of west Beirut which was at the time under intense Israeli gun fire from land and sea.
