A U.S. Jewish think tank accused a magazine of publishing an article that promulgates a “dual-loyalty” slur against a prominent early 20th-century Jew. The David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies says the article in the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs on Ambassador Henry Morgenthau Sr. falsely suggests that he could have used a 1917 peace mission to Turkey to end World War I, but was talked out of it by Zionist leader Chaim Weizmann. The article also falsely claims that a U.S. senator testified that Zionists were to blame for prolonging World War I, when the testimony came from a professor.
