Accused war criminal Maurice Papon walked out of a French court when the chief prosecutor accused him of lying about his activities when he served as a high- ranking official in the pro-Nazi Vichy government. Papon, accused of ordering the arrest for deportation of 1,560 Jews during the war, later apologized, but the judge warned him not to do it again.
