Alfred M. Cohen, honorary president of B’nai B’rith, died here today, aged 89. He has been sick for the last two years.
Born in Cincinnati, he served as president of the B’nai B’rith from 1925 to 1938. During his presidency, the order undertook most of its present activities, including Hillel Foundations, youth organization and its vocational service bureau. In 1936 B’nai B’rith founded a $100,000 colony in Palestine in his name.
