Isaac Stern, president of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, told a press conference here today that the Foundation was planning a cultural award for Israeli artists. He said the annual award would probably amount to 10,000 Israeli pounds ($3,333).
Mr. Stern said that the award would be conferred on "whoever does the most, creatively, in Israel in music, theater or writing." He explained that the award was in line with the Foundation’s goal "to make Israel an ingathering not simply of Jews but of the intellectual power of Jews."
