Large quantities of arms, ammunition and mines were discovered in the Raffah area–in the southern Gaza Strip and northern Sinai–in the course of transferring some Bedouins from the area to other locations in the Strip as part of a plan for Jewish settlements there, it was reported. The area, known as “Smuggler’s Road,” has been the scene of much terrorist activity: seven Israelis have been killed and 25 injured there in the past 18 months. Since Jan. 30, three terrorists have been captured there.
