An Israeli army officer was found guilty by a military court of responsibility for the death of Ahmed Dib Dahloul, secretary of the local Communist Party in Salfit village in Samaria last summer. Dahloul died of injuries sustained when he was heaten by Israeli soldiers following his arrest during Arab riots on the West Bank. The soldiers testified that they acted under orders from the officer to beat up six detainees, including Dahloul, on the way to the police station. The officer’s name and rank were not disclosed.
