Sir Oswald Mosley, British Fascist leader, broke up his lecture at the State University of New York here under shouts “Nazi” and “Jew-hater” from the angry audience. He ducked through the back door and escaped while some of the students in the hall held the angry crowd back.
Earlier during the lecture, university officials informed the press that there were no incidents at Mosley’s lecture. (See earlier story on page 2.) The lecture came to an abrupt end when Mrs. Isa Klein, wife of a Buffalo rabbi, jumped from her chair and called Mosley a “Fascist Jew-hater”. Mosley replied he was never a racist. His reply provoked shouts from the audience “You are a Nazi”. A number of persons then surged toward the platform, but a group of graduate students surrounded him and forced the crowd back, while he quickly disappeared.
