The fifth anniversary of the death of Matias Stoliar, founder and publisher of “Di Yiddische Zeitung, “largest Jewish daily newspaper in Latin America, was observed here with the distribution of literary awards for the best Jewish books of the year.
The winners of the prizes were: Baruch Hager for his book “Malchut Chasidut” and Berish Weinstein for his volume ” America.” Leaders of all major Jewish organizations participated in the ceremony, which was addressed by Mark Turkow, representative of the World Jewish Congress, Dr. Abraham Mibashan, president of the Jewish community, and others. Mrs Gitel Stoliar, widow of the late publisher, announced that the literary awards will be continued.
