A demand that the World Zionist Congress in Lucerne denounce the barter agreement between the Haavara, Ltd., a Palestine transfer corporation, and Germany was sent to the congress by the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League yesterday in a cablegram signed by Samuel Untermyer, president.

Mr. Untermyer arrived in New York yesterday morning on the Italian liner Roma from a vacation trip in Europe.

The cablegram follows:

“World Zionist Congress, Lucerne: Our organization representing great body Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Masons, labor groups here and eighteen other countries protest most strongly against any barter relations Haavara Ltd. with Germany. Suggest imperative your Congress unequivocally denounce this sabotage by those who should fight for it most vitally.”

The cablegram was made public with a statement by the league calling the barter agreement “inexcusable under any pretext.”
