Rapproachement between Jews and Arabs in Palestine can be and must be brought about after the war, so that a settlement may be reached concerning use of the land, which will be satisfactory to all and consistent with the principle of a Jewish state there, Prof. Selig Brodetsky, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, declared today, addressing the Jewish Historical Society at Leeds.

Palestine must become the Mecca of all Jews, from any part of the world, who desire to live there and contribute to the development of a Jewish national home and culture, Prof. Brodetsky stated. The Earl of Harewood, who is commonly considered to be pro-Arab, presided.
