Anti-Jewish demonstrations, a strike and opening of a campaign to boycott Palestine Jewish products occurred in Syria and Egypt today, coinciding with the opening of the Palestine partition Commission’s inquiry. Despite official disapproval, agitation against the British commission increased in Damascus, climaxed by a partial strike.
A demonstration in sympathy with the Palestine Arabs, most of whose participants were students, called for a boycott of Jewish goods from the Holy Land. Unrest was also reported in Aleppo and Homs.
