Dr. Chaim Favelukes, prominent social worker and president of the Israelite Hospital, has been kidnapped by a terrorist gang which is holding him for ransom of 100,000 pesos, about $25,000.
Dr. Favelukes was lured from his home by a false professional call to a house which has now been shown to be vacant.
His wife has received a note from him in his own writing declaring: “My life is in danger,” and asking that the ransom be deposited according to directions.
Mrs. Favelukes was told that her husband would be slain if the police were informed. The police were informed and are now making a search for Dr. Favelukes.
