Police announced today that Joseph Riedel, leader of Argentina’s pro-Nazi forces who was slain a week ago Sunday, was the victim of robbers.
It had been rumored that the slaying, not revealed until last Friday, was the result of a quarrel over use of party funds. Berlin Nazi sources charged Riedel was killed by agents of the Communist International and compared the slaying to that of Wilhelm Gustloff, Swiss Nazi agent, who was assassinated by a Jewish medical student last year.
