Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff, former head of the political department of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, who was murdered in Tel Aviv on the night of June 16, was unable to identify his assailants before he died, it was testified today at the hearing of the three men accused of the crime.
Dr. Arlosoroff was shot as he was strolling with his wife along the beach at Tel Aviv and died several hours later in the Hadassah hospital.
“They flashed a torchlight in my face and then shot me,” Constable Kampf, the witness, quoted Dr. Arlosoroff as saying at the hospital. Doctors forbade further questioning of the patient as they prepared to operate and the constable was unable to obtain any further information about the attack from the victim, he testified.
Three members of the extremist wing of the Revisionists, a rightwing Zionist group, are being held in connection with the murder. Two of them, Abraham Stavsky and Zvi Rosenblatt, have been identified by the widow, Mrs. Sima Arlosoroff. The third is Aba Achimeir.
During a building strike at Petach-Tikva last March, another police witness, Constable Kessler, testified he saw Stavsky and two other strikebreakers prepare a concrete block on which was inscribed, “here lies the chairman of the Jewish Agency, the late Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff.” The constable said he had thrown the block into the foundation excavation of one of the buildings in order to prevent fur-
