A Knesset House Committee was asked today to withdraw parliamentary immunity from Communist deputy Twefik Toubi who was involved in a brawl with military police during a Communist-inspired effort to make political capital out of the first anniversary of the Kfar Kassem killings.
Attorney General Haim Cohen submitted evidence that the deputy on October 26 sought to enter Kfar Kassem despite a police barrier set up to prevent incitement to villagers to demonstrate on the anniversary of the killing of 47 Arab residents. The deputy was reported on a visit to Russia to participate in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Russian revolution.
