Diplomatic sources today stated that Prime Minister Attlee proposes to allot 35,000 Palestine immigration permits to Jews immediately – for an unspecified period – providing the United States is prepared to share responsibility for maintaining order in Palestine.
Reliable political circles, at the same time, predicted that Mr. Attlee may be in a position to make a statement on Palestine in the House or Commons next week, A full dress debate may follow his statement, they said.
