The organization of economic anti-Semitism throughout Austria is proceeding without let-up, latest advices indicate.

Using the slogan, “Buy from Native Business Men Only,” the associations of German “Aryan” doctors, German “Aryan” lawyers and the various propaganda channels are all hard at work to enforce a stringent anti-Jewish boycott.

An “Economic Association of Productive Classes in Austria” is one of the latest proposals set forth to drive the Jews from the economic life of the country.

Proposed by the acting chairman, Dr. Tschadesch, of the “Association of German ‘Aryan’ Lawyers,” the plan suggests that the smaller industrialists establish a tie-up with larger firms, bringing about greater business for “Aryans,” which in turn would cause greater employment of “native” workers, freezing out Jewish workers most effectively and, most important to the new “Aryan” lawers’ group, gives their members employment.

“ARYAN” ASSOCIATION FOSTERED

Says Dr. Tschadesch:

“Already, in the Spring of 1934, I addressed a circular to my ‘Aryan’ colleagues, in which I drew attention to the necessity of establishing closer connections with the economic circles of Austria.

“For,” he continues, “the class of lawyers does not exist for itself, but only with the economic class and through it. The different productive classes are interdependent and, therefore, it is necessary to establish an institution which is capable of making and upholding the connections between these different classes.

“An ‘Economic Association of Productive Classes in Austria’ is to serve the purpose. First of all, a file has to be prepared divided according to the occupational branches. This file is to make it possible, when requested, at once to name individual persons and firms belonging to the different occupational branches.

WOULD LINK TWO GROUPS

This move, he contends, would effect a tie-up between the smaller and larger industrialists, for, he says, the smaller industrialists, thereby, shall be able to establish connections by the shortest route, with big industrialists and business firms, and vice versa.

“This will bring about an extraordinary ###tivization of the undertaking ###nging to ‘Aryan’ firms, to ### artisans, merchants and industrialists, in which ‘Aryan’ lawyers are interested, too. Each business man is to be enabled to make use of the services of an ‘Aryan’ lawyer.

“The membership lists, inaugurated by the ‘Association of German Aryan Lawyers,’ also serve this purpose. They comprise the whole territory of our federal state. It is therefore possible, guided by this list, to engage the services of any ‘Aryan’ lawyer in any court district.

“In connection with this,” Dr. Tchadesch concluded, “we also want to point to the recently published calendar for 1935 which, besides weekly notice sheets. . . also contains a list of members of the association.”

The calendar, incidentally, serves the same principles as the suppressed “Aryan Business Directory.”
