Three hundreds Jewish leaders from New York, north-western Pennsylvania and eastern Canada attending the New York Regional Conference of the Joint Distribution Committee, yesterday heard Joseph C. Hyman, its executive director, refer to the fall of Austria as “perhaps the most dreadful of all the dreadful events in recent years that have been crushing and destroying the Jews of Eastern and Central Europe.”
