The authorities continue to round up and arrest Arabs in connection with the disturbances in Safed last August. One Arab who had long defied the authorities though surrounded, continued to fire on the troops for many hours, expending over five hundred rounds of ammunition. The troops replied with an almost equal number of shots and finally captured the man, who was wounded in the hand and stomach.
