The pardon given Baron Ludwig Hatvany, Jewish novelist and political writer, is conditional and dependent for three years on his good behavior, states the “Arbeiter Zeitung” in today’s issue.
Baron Hatvany, while in Vienna, had written a series of articles which attacked the Hungarian government. Upon his return he was arrested and sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment. Later his term was reduced to five years and then was lessened to a year and a half. After serving nine months of his term the Baron was released.
