Premier Menachem Begin expressed the hope yesterday that the warm ties between Israel and Swaziland would serve as a model for future relations with other African states. Begin spoke at a dinner in honor of Swazi Premier Maphevu Dhlamini, who was accompanied by the Swazi ministers of finance and justice and that country’s attorney general. Begin called for increased cooperation between the two countries.
In his reply, Dhlamini said he was deeply impressed by the achievements he saw in Israel. “The Swazi people are by nature a peace loving nation, he said.” As such we have always shared the concern of other nations upon the difficulties of finding a lasting peaceful solution to the problems of this region.” Dhlamini was scheduled to leave Israel this evening after signing a joint communigue with Begin.
