Belgian police arrested a man after he tried to blow up a vehicle outside a synagogue in the south of the country. Sources in Charleroi, some 35 miles south of the capital of Brussels, told the Agence France-Presse news agency that the man had parked a car filled with five gas canisters near the city’s synagogue last Friday morning and had then poured gas over the vehicle.
