Israeli Premier David Ben Gurion has invited Judge Joseph M. Proskauer, president of the American Jewish Committee, to visit Israel, it was announced here this week-end at a two-day meeting of the executive committee of the A.J.C. by Jacob Blaustein, chairman of the executive. Judge Proskauer replied to Ben Gurion that "my colleagues and I look forward to the hope of accepting your invitation to visit Israel in the not-too-distant future."
Irving M. Engel, chairman of the A.J.C. administrative and immigration committees, addressing the opening session, a called on Congress to immediately emend the DP Immigration Act "to eliminate its discriminating features." Aside from its discriminating featured, Engel declared that the act is difficult to administer. He pointed out that since the law’s passage in July, not a single DP has entered this country under its provisions.
