Premier David Ben Gurion arrived here this weekend. he will receive tomorrow the Hebrew University’s Solomon Bublick award, given to the "Jew or non-Jew who made the most significant contribution to Palestine’s progress and development in the past two years."
A group of recent immigrants affiliated with the Mapai Party last night held a conference at Kfar Vitkin where they heard I. Koran, an agricultural expert, outline the steps adopted by the government to absorb immigrants into cooperative settlements. He reported that since the establishment of the Jewish state in May, 1948, the population of 22 cooperative settlements doubled, from 4,000 to 8,000.
