The B’nai B’rith lodge of Bethlehem has decided that it will again sponsor the award of a plaque to that Bethlehem citizen who has done more for the City of Bethlehem than any other during the past year. This will be the third year that this organization will make such an award, the former recipients being Mayor Robert Pfeifle and R. K. Laros.
The award is made on the following basis:
Constructive suggestions or efforts which have led to and resulted in some distinctive notable civic achievement in the material, mental, moral or spiritual welfare of the people during the past several years.
Moritz M. Gottlieb, well-known Jewish leader of Allentown, has been re-elected president of the Jewish Community Center of Allentown for the fifth term. Others re-elected were Charles Koine, chairman of the board of directors; Henry B. Friedman, vice-president; Sol Hoffman, treasurer; Hyman Rockmaker, financial secretary; and Jacob Rosenberg, recording secretary.
Eight vacancies on the board were filled with the following nominees: Henry B. Friedman, David Kins, Aaron Klein, Gabriel Karol, I. Max, Louis Stamberg, Dr. David H. Parmet and Simon Baker.
