Bomber Command airmen who conducted hazardous operations during World War II, running an organization for the rescue of men from Nazi prisons, will start a campaign to fight clubs in Britain that discriminate against Jews, Reynolds News reported here today.
Headlining its report under the banner-line of “Heroes Versus Anti-Jew Clubs,” the newspaper declares that there are nearly 100 clubs–most of them in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds–that discriminate against memberships for Jews. The airmen states the newspaper, plan on putting up for membership in one of the “anti-Jew” clubs one of their own Jewish members who holds the coveted Victoria Cross for heroism.
In the same context, the Sunday Times today ran an article declaring that “the Jews in Britain are far and away the most law-abiding persons in Britain.” Stating that “the unique strength of the Jews is their faith,” the article refers to British Jews as “brilliant, complex and volatile.”
