DEPUTIES STAND PAT
The Board of Deputies of British Jews today voted not to take a stand on the boycott of German-made goods, but unanimously voted to reaffirm the statement of its president, Neville Laski, that “no self-respecting Jew will handle German goods or utilize German services in view of the continued anti-Jewish policy in that country.”
Attempts to draw the Board of Deputies into the organized boycott movement set on foot by the Jewish Representative Council, Anglo-Jewish boycott group, have failed. The viewpoint of the Board of Deputies has been that the organized boycott is harmful to Jewish interests in Germany.
The international boycott conference will open in London o# November 27 and will continue for three days. Jewish and non-Jewish delegates from seventeen countries have indicated their intentions of attending.
